形態特徵

• Tuber globose or depressed-globose, to 25 by 20 cm, root scars thickened, annulate, seasonally producing few or many globose or shortly cylindric offset tubers.
• Leaf solitary or occasionally two per tuber; petiole 55-200 cm long, 2-8 cm in diam. at base, pale green or dark green with numerous, large and small, oval-elliptic, whitish-green spots, surface strongly scabrate-verrucate, verrucae elongate; lamina 80-200 cm long and wide; leaflets obovate, oblong, oval or elliptic, acuminate, 6-15 by 3-13 cm, veins impressed.
• Inflorescence short peduncled, ca. 3-15 cm long, ca. 3-5 cm in diam., slightly less verrucate, greatly lengthening in fruit (to 100 cm); spathe campanulate, broadly triangular, obtuse or acute, ca. 20-30 cm long, ca. 25-40 cm in diam., moderately constricted between base and limb, base thickwalled, outside pale green or brownish with a few whitish, round spots, inside maroon, near constriction dirty orangish-yellowish or pale spots. Spadix sessile, equaling or longer than spathe, 20-40 cm long; female zone 5-15 cm long; male zone 2-8 cm long, flowers congested; appendix irregular globoseconic, to ca. 20 by 20 cm, apex obtuse, surface irregular, shallowly or deeply folded, minutely verrucate, pale or dark purplish brown. Female flowers: style 8-10 mm long, 1.5 mm in diam., maroon; stigma capitate, ca. 4 by 2.5 mm in diam., pale yellowish white. Male flowers: stamens narrowly elongate, ca. 5 mm long, 1.5-2 mm in diam., ivory white; filaments ca. 0.2-0.5 mm long; anthers narrowly elongate, ca. 4.5-5 mm long.
• Fruiting plants not seen in Taiwan.

分布

• 台灣 : forest floor of <i>Swietenia macrophylla</i> plantations in Chaochou, Pingtung Hsien, probably naturalized.
• 世界 : Widespread from Madagascar to the Polynesian islands, often cultivated as a root crop.
