形態特徵

• Woody vines. Stems 1-4 m long, 5-8 mm thick, terete, obscurely angled, dull, nearly smooth or sparingly prickly, copiously branching; flowering branches, 10-15 cm long, 1-1.3 mm thick, angled, smooth or sparsely prickly with minute thorns.
• Leaves alternate; blade ovate to ovate-ellipsoid, 3-5(-7) cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm wide, base cuneate or rounded, rarely shallowly cordate, apex acute or subacute, membranaceous, glaucous, eventually subcoriaceous, lower surface pale green; main costas 3, seldom 5, separate to base, ridged on lower surface, slender but distinct on upper surface, lateral veinlets spaced, curved, divided, forming loose reticulation; petiole 3-10 mm long (to 3 cm long on stem leaves), 0.8-1 mm thick, keeled, with a pair of broad wings, jointed at apex of sheathing portion, wings elliptic or ovate-ellipsoid, membranaceous, 1-3 mm wide (to 6 mm wide on stem leaves).
• Inflorescence a simple umbel in leaf axils, without prophyll at peduncle base. Staminate umbels in 2 to 4 lower axils of flowering branches, 2.5-3 cm across, flowers 5-20; peduncle 8-15 mm long. Pistillate umbels usually solitary on each flowering branch, in lowest leaf axil only, 1-1.5 cm across, flowers 3-7; rays 3-5 mm long; peduncle 1-1.5 cm long. Staminate perianth segments patent, pale green; outer ones ellipsoid or narrowly so, 6-7 mm long, 1.8-2.2 mm wide, subobtuse; inner ones oblong, obtuse, slightly shorter than outer ones, 1-1.5 mm wide; stamens 6, 3.5-4.5 mm long, anthers white, ellipsoid, 0.7-1 mm long. Pistillate perianth segments patent; outer ones ovate, 3-3.5 mm long, 2-2.25 mm wide, subobtuse; inner ones oblong, as long as outer ones, 0.7 mm wide, obtuse; staminodia 3, 1.5 mm long, needle-like; ovary ellipsoid, 2-2.5 mm long, 1-1.2 mm wide; stigmas 3, recurved-spreading, 0.75 mm long.
• Berries globose, 8-10 mm in diam., red; seeds 1 or 2.

分布

• 台灣 : occasional in forests, 1,200-2,700 m.
• 世界 : Mainland China from Yangtze River valley from Szechuan southward to Fukien.
