形態特徵

• Herbs, perennial; stems 20–50 cm tall, much branched, glabrous below, upper portions more or less pubescent.
• Leaves membranaceous, lanceolate, ovate or ovate-oblong, 3–6 cm long, 1–3 cm wide, apex acuminate or acute, base obtuse or acute, entire or obscurely crenate, both surfaces thinly pilose; petiole 5–15 mm long, slightly pubescent.
• Cymes clustered, terminal and axillary; peduncle to 1 cm long; bracts lanceolate elliptic or ovate, 1–2 cm long acute to obtuse or rounded at both ends, margins nearly glabrous or ciliate; bracteoles triangular-lanceolate, 2–3 mm long; calyx 2.5–3 mm long, 5-partite, segments narrow, acuminate; corolla pale, 2–2.5 cm long, pubescent without, limb bilabiate, upper lip elliptic, entire, lower one narrowly oblong, minutely 3-lobed; stamens exserted, ca. 4 mm long beyond mouth of corolla tube; style 2–2.5 cm long.
• Capsule clavate, loosely pilose; seeds ellipsoid, ca. 2.5 mm long, minutely tuberculate.
• Japan and central China.
