形態特徵

  • Shrubs 2 m tall; branchlets with scales at base, glabrous or hairy, hairs simple, red at anthesis; thorns 0.6–0.7 cm long, straight or slightly curved upward; buds ovate, acute 0.5 cm long.
  • Leaves coriaceous, ovate to obovate, 8–12.5 cm long, 3.7–5.5 cm wide, rounded or acuminate at apex, pale or glaucous-green when dry; petioles 7.5 mm long.
  • Flowers 1–10, often appearing before the Leaves, subtended by a normally developed leaf; pedicel 0.75–1 cm long, sparsely puberulous, soon glabrescent; sepals 3–5 mm long, free in bud, mostly with hairy margins; petals 1.1–1.2 cm long, 3–3.5 mm wide, puberulous on both sides, especially toward apex; stamens 12–16, 2–2.5 cm long; gynophore 1.8–2 cm long; ovary 2.5 mm long.
  • Fruit globose, yellowish when dry, 2.5–3.5 cm across, pericarp leathery; stipes thickened, 4 mm across, 3 cm long.

分布

  • 台灣 : In thickets and second growth forests at low altitudes in the southern part and on the Hengchun Peninsula in Taiwan.
  • 世界 : Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina to Malaysia and Philippines.
