形態特徵

  • Trees; branches grayish brown, densely villous when young.
  • Leaves thin-coriaceous, oblong, 8–11 cm long; 3–4.5 cm wide, apex cuspidate, base acute or obtuse, margins entire, glabrous, midrib shallowly depressed above; petioles 1–2 cm long.
  • Flowers axillary, solitary; pedicels 6–8 mm long; calyx obconical, 5-lobed, lobes rounded, 2–3 mm long, glabrous outside, margins ciliate; petals 5, unequal, obovate-elliptic, slightly connate at base, 1.2–1.5 cm long, 8–1.2 cm wide, apex rounded, pubescent at base; stamens numerous, 5–7 mm long; ovary depressed globose, villous at the midway down; style 7–8 mm long, glabrous.
  • Fruit a capsule, depressed globose, 1–1.6 cm in diameter, villous; seeds flat, reniform, narrow-winged, up to 9 mm long, 6 mm wide.

  • 台灣 : the southern part of Taiwan.
