形態特徵

• Erect perennial deciduous small shrubs, 30-60 cm tall. Stem round, shallowly sulcate, sparsely velutinous, glabrous at maturity; branches.
• Leaves ternate or pinnate, opposite, chartaceous; petioles not tendril-like, 3.3-4.8 cm long, densely velutinous. Leaflets 3 to 5, 1.3-3.8 cm long, 1.1-2.8 cm wide, ovate to elliptic; apex acuminate; base truncate or cuneate, lateral segments oblique; 1 to 3-lobed; margin irregularly serrate; pubescent or sparsely pubescent on adaxial surface, sparsely pubescent or subglabrous on abaxial surface; main veins 5, nerves flat or sunken on adaxial side, elevated on abaxial side; terminal segment petiolulate, lateral ones subsessile or sessile.
• Flowers solitary, rarely 3-flowered, 1-1.2 cm diam., polygamous, terminal; pedicels white velutinous; bracts chartaceous, leaflike, lobed, margin serrate, glabrous or nearly so inside, densely villose outside. Sepals 4, pale blue or purple, turning brown when dry, tubular, recurved at the tip, 1.5-2.0 cm long, 5-7 mm wide, oblong-lanceolate to linear, wider above middle, 5 mm wide; apex cuspidate; base cuneate or obtuse; glabrous inside, villose outside. Stamens numerous, 6-10 mm long, glabrous on adaxial side sparsely pubescent on connective and filament; anthers linear, dehiscence lateral, longitudinal; connective excurrent beyond pollen sacs, 0.1-0.3 mm long; filaments linear, dilated near anther.
• Carpels numerous, white sericeous. Staminate flowers with normal stamens and sterile carpels. Fruits 2.1-3.0 cm long; achenes 4-5 mm long, elliptic, convex on both sides, reddish-brown or dark brown, velutinous hairs; style with pale yellow or maize colored hairs.
