形態特徵

• Perennial evergreen herbs with stout short stem.
• Leaves very large; leaf ovate-cordate, apex short acuminate, margin entire, base deeply cordate, green or pale green above, 25-100 cm long; petiole pale green, up to 1.5 m.
• Inflorescences 5-8 in each axil of leave. Peduncle cylindric, each one with a membranous cataphyll, nearly equaling the length of peduncle. Spathe white, oblong, distinct constricted 12-24 cm long, tube green, ellipsoid; spadix, flowers unisexual, female portion yellow, conic, sterile portion slender, 3-4.5 cm long, male portion 5-14 cm long; appendix very short acute, 1-5 mm long.
• Berry oblong, 5 mm; seeds many.

分布

• 台灣 : Cultivated and rarely escaped in Taiwan.
• 世界 : Native in China, Laos and Vietnam.
