Shrubs; branchlets densely stellate and dendritic hairy.
Leaves mostly elliptic, ovate or obovate, usually 7–18 cm long, 3–11 cm wide, apex acute to acuminate, base cuneate, obtuse or rounded, margin usually serrulate to serrate, with cup-shaped glands mostly at base, slightly yellow glandular dotted or not adaxially, densely so abaxially, with loose to subdensely stellate and dendritic hairs mixing with setulose hairs adaxially, densely so abaxially, lateral veins 6–10(–13) pairs; petioles 1–2 cm long, densely dendritic hairy.
Inflorescence 6–10-branched; peduncles usually 1–2 cm long; bracts linear to lanceolate. Pedicels usually less than 1 mm long; calyx ca. 1 mm long, teeth shallowly triangular, tube densely stellate hairy, loosely yellow glandular dotted outside; corolla lobes obtuse to rounded at apex, purple to pinkish or rarely white adaxially, white to pinkish and glabrous or sparsely hairy and sparsely yellow glandular-dotted abaxially, tube ca. 2 mm long, glabrous; stamens 5–8 mm long, filaments glabrous; ovary yellow glandular-dotted at apex.
Fruit globose to ellipsoid, up to 4 mm across, glabrous and yellow glandular dotted at apex, purple when ripe.
分布
台灣 : very common in thickets and roadside throughout the island, low to 2,300 m elevations.
世界 : Distributed from southeastern to southern China, the Philippines(?), Japan (Okinawa).
