Small deciduous trees to 5 m tall, branches brownish, glabrous.
Leaves ovate to broadly ovate, 6–15 cm long, 6–10 cm wide, apex acuminate to obtuse, base cuneate, obtuse to subcordate, margin entire, undulate, or sometimes remotely crenulate toward apex, glabrescent above, pubescent along veins or glabrate on lower; petiole 1–3 cm long.
Inflorescences terminal or rarely lateral. Flowers yellowish white, hermaphroditic, sessile. Calyx cup shaped, 1–1.5 mm long, glabrescent; lobes 5, triangular, margin sometimes sparsely ciliolate. Corolla funnelform to campanulate, 3.5–5 mm long, with lobes slightly longer than tube, lobes 5, oblong, reflexed. Stamens long exserted.
Fruit yellowish, subglobose, 3–6 mm in diam.
