A shrub or small tree, glabrous, of variable features; young branchlets and buds pubescent.
Leaves 1- or 3–5-foliolate, the leaflets alternate, chartaceous, generally oblong-lauceolate to lanceolate, 7–10 cm long, acuminate with obtuse acumen at apex, acute or obtuse at base, the margins usually entire, the lateral veins faint, about 8 on each side of the midrib, glabrous on both surfaces, pellucid-punctate.
Flowers small, white, about 6 mm across, axillary, in cymose panicles, 5 cm long or less; calyx 5-lobed, the lobes broadly triangular, imbricate; petals 5, white, ovate, about 6 mm long, and 2.5 mm broad, glabrous; stamens 10, irregular in length, the longer ones about equaling the petals, the filaments stout; style very short, stout.
Fruit globose or ovoid, depressed and oblique, about 1.5 cm across; seeds solitary.
