形態特徵

• Scandent perennial woody vines. Stem dark red, sulcate, glabrous.
• Leaves ternately compound, subcoriaceous or crass; petioles tendril-like, 6.6-10.2 cm long; stipules absent. Leaflets 3, 7.5-11.4 cm long, 2.9-9.5 cm wide, broadly ovate, elliptic or oblong; apex acute or acuminate; base obtuse or cuneate, unlobed, margin entire, glabrous on both surfaces; main veins 3, nerves flat or elevated on adaxial side, elevated on abaxial side; petiolulate.
• Inflorescence cymes, terminal or axillary; Pedicels almost glabrous, trichotomously branched; bracts and bracteoles subulate, coriaceous, densely white velutinous on both sides. Flowers 24-40 mm in diam., white, spreading. Sepals 4, 1.2-2.1 cm long, 4-6 mm wide, lanceolate or oblanceolate; apex acute-mucronulate; base cuneate; velutinous or sparsely velutinous inside, densely velutinous outside. Stamens numerous, 5-10 mm long, glabrous, centripetal; anthers narrowly elliptic or linear, dehiscenc lateral, longitudinale; connective shortly excurrent beyond pollen sacs, 0.05-0.09 mm long; filaments linear, flat and curved.
• Carpels numerous, white sericeous. Fruits 2.9-4.6 cm long; achenes 4-6 mm long, narrowly ovate or elliptic, compressed laterally, yellowish brown and white velutinous; style with white or pale yellow hairs bearded.

分布

• 台灣 : sunny places and forest margins in the north central part of the island e. g., Alishan, Hsitou and Yangmingshan at altitudes of 300-2,300 m.
• 世界 : South China, Hong Kong and southern Japan(Ryukyus).
