形態特徵

• Rhizome slender, rigid, horizontally long-creeping, branching, internodes 1-10 cm long, 1-3 mm thick, clothed with brown sheaths and their fibrous remnants. Culms solitary or few together at nodes of rhizome, 3-15 cm tall usually with a considerable length of lower part in sand, 1-2 mm thick, trigonous, smooth.
• Leaves aggregated on lower part of upper ground portion of culms; blades linear, recurved, shorter than or occasionally equalling culm, 4-5 mm wide below, coriaceous, glaucous-green; sheaths lightly brown.
• Corymbs congested in a head-like cluster at culm-apex, with 3-8 spikes, 2-3 cm across; leafy bracts mostly 3-6, patent or reflexed, equalling or longer than corymb, longest one to 8 cm long. Spikes ellipsoid to ovoid, 1-2 cm long, 7-10 mm wide, densely bearing many spikelets, glaucous- or yellowish green. Spikelets ovoid, 4-5 mm long, acute, bearing 4 glumes, 1-fruited; rachilla jointed above base.
• Glumes ovate to broadly ovate, acute, obtuse on back, several-veined, lower 3 empty, 3 mm long, fourth 3.5-4.5 mm long, bearing a bisexual flower. Achene oblong, trigonous, 2.5 mm long, maturing grayish brown; style shorter than achene; stigmas 3. Stamens 3.
