形態特徵

• Perennial, tufted with short, sometimes subglobose rhizome.
• Leaves clustered at base of culms; blades linear, 5-15 cm by 1-2.5 mm, glaucous-green, mucronate; sheaths brownish, ciliate at orifice; ligule a fringe of short hairs.
• Inflorescence compound, inclined to nodding, 3-7 cm long, bearing 4-23 spikelets; involucre bracts 1-2, lowest 1.5-4 cm long, much shorter than corymb; primary branches 3-6, 1.5-5 cm long. Spikelets many per inflorescence, ovoidal to ovoidal-ellipsoidal, terete, 8-12 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, yellowish brown.
• Glumes ovate to broadly elliptic, 2-3.2 mm by 1.7-2 mm wide, thinly chartaceous, yellowish brown, brown-striate, whitish membranaceous on margins, costa 1- or obscurely 3-nerved ending per mucro at acute apex of glume. Anthers ca. 1.3 mm long. Style flat, liguliform, densely fimbriate on upper margins; stigmas 2. Achenes orbicular-obovate, ca. 3 mm by 3 mm, lenticular, rounded to subtruncate, maturing brownish, weakly cancellated with ca. 20 rows of transversely oblong-hexagonal epidermal cells.

• 台灣 : in dry sandy grasslands along rivers at the east part.
