形態特徵

• Perennial, densely tufted, subaphyllous with very short rhizome; culms subrigid, erect, 20-75 cm by 0.5-1.5 mm, subterete to obtusely 3-4-angular, smooth, glabrous, clothed at base with 3 or 4 bladeless sheaths.
• Basal sheaths 1-10 cm long, membranaceous, brown-tinged, obliquely truncate at orifice; ligule absent.
• Inflorescence a single, terminal, inclined spikelet; involucre bract scale-like 2-5 mm long, mucronate. Spikelet ovoidal to ovoidal-ellipsoidal, 5-16 mm by 3-5 mm, acute, terete, brownish, densely many-flowered.
• Glumes many per spikelet, spiral, broadly ovate to ovate-elliptic, 3-5 mm by 2.5-3.5 mm, rounded, chartaceous, scarcely keeled, dorsally faintly many-veined, brownish with dark brown striate. Stamens 3; anthers 1.5-2 mm long. Style flat, ciliate above, not or slightly dilated at base; stigmas 2. Achenes broadly obovate, unequally biconvexed, 1.2-1.5 mmby 0.8-1 mm, rounded, sessile at cuneately contracted base, maturing whitish, transversely rugulosed with 5-7 ridges, usually verruculose on upper part.

• 台灣 : in wetd grassland, rice fields, forest floor and dampy sandy places.
• 世界 : India, Sri Lanka, Indochina, the Malesia, northern Australia, the Ryukyus and China.
