形態特徵

• Annual, biennial or perennial with very short rhizome; culms solitary or sublossely tufted, 10-70 cm by 0.5-2 mm, trigonous, striate, glabrous to pilose, smooth.
• Leaves basal, few; blades linear, 5-30 cm by 1.5-5 mm, obtuse, flate, glaucous-green, pilose to glabrescent; sheaths 2-12 cm long, tightly surrounding culm, cylindrical, pilose to glabrous, membranaceous ventral side cinnamon- or light brown; ligule a dense fringe of short hairs.
• Inflorescence simple to decompound, 2-17 cm by 1-5 cm, loose to subdense; involucre bracts 2 -5, lower ones leafy, shorter than to overtopping corymb, remainder setaceous; primary branches 2-12, 1-10 cm long, slender, smooth, glabrous to sparingly pilose. Spikelets 2-many per inflorescence, solitary or in clusters of 2 or 3, ovate to ovate-elliptic, 4-8 mm by 2.5-3 mm, acute, terete, brown to chestnut-brown, slightly shiny, densely many-flowered.
• Glumes many per spikelet, spiral, broadly ovate, 2-4 mm by 1.5-2.2 mm, chartaceous, tinged with reddish or dark brown especially on half, keel greenish, 3-nerved. Stamens 2-3; anthers 0.5-0.7 mm long. Style flat, slightly dialted at base, ciliate above, stigma 2. Achenes obovate to broadly obovate, 0.7-13 mm by 0.8-1 mm, shortly stipitate, whitish to yellowish at maturity, cancellated with 5-8 rows of transversely rectangular cells.
