形態特徵

• Perennial, hardly tufted; rhizome stoloniferous, long-creeping, slender, persistent, terminated by a tuber. Culms solitary to few together, erect, 20-35 cm tall, slender, trigonous, smooth.
• Leaves several to a culm, shorter than culm; blades linear, 3-6 mm wide, weakly folded; sheaths pale and stained with reddish brown, eventually disintegrating into brown parallel fibers.
• Corymbs simple to partially compound, with 2-6 unequal slender rays 2-8 cm long; spikes turbinate, loosely bearing 2-11-spikelets; leafy bracts 2 or 3, equalling to shorter , than corymb. Spikelets patent, linear, 8-20 mm long, 1.5-3 mm wide, 8- to 20-flowered, yellowish brown or occasionally stained with reddish brown; rachilla with relatively broad white hyaline wings.
• Glumes elliptic to ovate-oval, rounded at apex, 3.5 mm long, thinly chartaceous to membranaceous, yellowish brown and sometimes tinged with reddish brown, conspicuously 7-nerved, keel greenish. Achenes obovate-oblong, trigonous, ca. 1/2 as long as glume, brown and puncticulate; stigmas 3. Stamens 3.

分布

• 台灣 : Open grasslands, sandy shores as well as in waste places.
• 世界 : From Mediterranean region through Indian subcontinent eastwards to Malesia and northern Australia, extending northwards to southern China and the Ryukyus.
