形態特徵

Tufted perennial; rhizome horizontal, long creeping, woody. Culms erect, 70-110 cm tall, 0.5-1 cm wide, acutely triquetrous, smooth, deep green, clothed at base with 1 or 2 sheaths only.
Leaves reduced to bladeless or short-bladed sheaths; blades, if developed, to 3 cm long, 3-8 mm wide; sheaths 10-20 cm long, pale green, stained with yellowish brown.
Corymbs compound to decompound, with 5-10 unequal rays; patent, 2-9 cm long; spikes loose, ellipsoid, bearing 5-12 spikelets, rachis glabrous; leafy bracts 2 or 3, shorter than corymb. Spikelets patent, linear, 0.5-3.5 cm long, 1.25-1.5 mm wide, subloosely 1- to 40-flowered, light brown; rachilla without wings.
Glumes suberect with more or less incurved apex, oblong to elliptic-oblong, obtuse or rounded at apex, thickly chartaceous, 2-2.5 mm long, lightly brown and strawcolored toward margins, without conspicuous lateral veins, keel convexed. Achenes oblong, trigonous, nearly as long as glume; style short, stigmas 3. Stamens 3.

分布

台灣 : Wet places; often cultivated in paddy fields to collect culms for making rough mats.
世界 : Southern China and the southern Ryukyus.
