形態特徵

• Tall perennial with short, woody rhizome. Culms coarse, 70-120 cm tall, obtusely trigonous, smooth, clothed below with several leaf sheaths.
• Leaves basal; leaf blades broadly linear, shorter than culm, 5-15 mm wide, weakly folded below, flattish above, herbaceous; sheaths rather long, dark or reddish brown.
• Corymb ample, decompound; leafy bracts surpassing umbel; rays 6-12 per umbel, unequal, to 12 cm long, each terminated by a secondary corymb with 3-10 raylets. Spikes sessile to subsessile, cylindrical, dense, 1.5-4 cm long, 5-8 mm wide, straw colored at maturity. Spikelets patent, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 3-6 mm long, 1-1.75 mm wide, 8- to 20-flowered, subcompressed.
• Glumes tightly imbricated, base decurrent along rachilla forming subtranslucent, white, persistent wings, body ovate to ovate-oval, 1.5 mm long,; membranaceous, yellowish brown or straw colored on both sides, keel greenish, convexed with 3-5 nerves, ending in a recurved mucro. Achenes obovate to elliptic-obovate, 1/2 as long as glume, trigonous; style elongated, stigmas 3. Stamens 3.
