形態特徵

• Rhizome short, densely tufted. Culms central or lateral, several to a tuft, slender, 20-50 cm tall, obtusely trigonous, smoothish, bearing spikes on upper 1/2 to 2/3.
• Leaves many, 2-6 mm wide; basal sheaths brown.
• Spikes 3 to 7, upper 3 or 4 subfastigiate, lower 1 or 2 spaced; terminal spike staminate, linear, 1-2 cm long; lateral spikes pistillate, narrowly cylindrical, 1-5 cm long, 3-5 mm thick, rather densely many-flowered. Bracts sheathing; blades of lower 2 or 3 bracts leafy, shorter than inflorescence, much surpassing subtending spike.
• Pistillate glumes elliptic to oblong, 2.5 mm long, pale, obtuse at apex, green costa forming a mucro at glume apex. Utricles longer than glume, suberect, lanceolate lageniform, obtusely trigonous, 3-3.5 mm long, finely many-veined, sparsely pubescent, contracted at short-stipitate base, beak short, minutely bidentate. Achenes rather tightly enveloped, oblong, ca. 2.5 mm long, trigonous, with angles constricted at middle, truncate at apex; style thickened at base; stigmas 3, short.
