形態特徵

• Rhizome short, densely tufted. Culms rigid, 20-65 cm tall, trigonous, smoothish.
• Leaves rather many, basal and subbasal, shorter than culm, 3-5 mm wide, recurved; sheaths rather long, greenish with purple-brown nerves.
• Spikes 7-10 at 5 or 7 nodes, middle ones binate or ternate, rarely 4-nate, upper ones subcontiguous, lower spaced, all androgynous with staminate part 1/3 to 2/5 its length of spike, cylindrical to oblong, 2-5 cm long, staminate part 1-2 mm wide, pistillate part 3-4 mm wide, densely many-flowered; peduncles exserted. Lower bracts long sheathing; blades leafy, never surpassing inflorescence. Stamens usually monadelphous.
• Pistillata glumes ovate to lanceolate, 3-4 mm long excluding awn, acute at apex, yellow-brown, costa excurrent in a scabrous awn 1-3 mm long. Utricles erect, lanceolate, 6-7 mm long, flattened-trigonous, yellowish green with brown flecks or brownish, finely nerved, puberulent, serrulate on upper margins, beak rather long, deeply 2-cleft. Achenes elliptic, ca. 2.5 mm long, trigonous, stipitate; stigmas 3, 5-6 mm long, persistent.

• 台灣 : rocky place, 1,200-2,500 m.
