形態特徵

• Plants with long, slender stolons. Culms 17-45 cm tall, 1-1.5 mm thick, trigonous.
• Leaves basal and cauline on lower part of culm, surpassing culm; blade 5-12 mm wide, herbaceous, rather soft; sheath sanguineous purple or reddish brown; basal sheaths with short blade or bladeless.
• Spikes 3-8, erect, upper 2-4 spikes contiguous or subfastigiate, remainder spaced; distal 1-3 spikes staminate or gynaecandrous, linear, 3-6 cm long, ca. 1 mm wide, brownish; remaining spikes pistillate or bearing a few staminate flowers at apex, 2-6 cm long, 5 mm wide, densely many-flowered, short-peduncled to subsessile, dark green. Bracts leaf like, surpassing inflorescence.
• Pistillate glumes lanceolate, 3 mm long, gradually tapering to cuspidate apex, dark sanguineous-purple; costa green, purple flecked ending at glume apex or forming a mucro. Utricle slightly longer than glume, suberect, ovate to oblong, 3.5-4 mm long, swollen trigonous, green with purple flecks, shiny, finely several nerved, abruptly narrowed to short beak; orifice shallowly 2-toothed. Achenes loosely enveloped, ovoid, trigonous, 1.5-2 mm long; stigmas 3, 3 mm long.

• 台灣 : forests over limestone.
• 世界 : Japan, the Ryukyus, southern China to Vietnam.
