形態特徵

Annuals, aquatic. Stems prostrate at base, erect above, branched, puberulent in a line decurrent from sheath, otherwise nearly glabrous; rooting at nodes; internodes 1.2-4.1 cm long.
Leaves sessile, blade linear to lanceolate, 2-6.7 cm by 4-7 mm, apex acuminate, glabrous, margins scabrescent, sheath puberulent on margins.
Inflorescences terminal, consisting of single flowers and 1 or 2 flowering shoots from axils of cauline leaves; bracteoles lanceolate, 0.3-1 cm long; pedicel 0.6-1.6 cm long. Flowers actinomorphic; sepals lanceolate, boat shaped, greenish, equal, 4-7 by ca. 1.5 mm, apex obtuse, glabrous or ciliate; petals suborbicular, 6-7 by ca. 5 mm, whitish purple or white, mid one convex, veins obscure in fresh material; fertile stamens 3, equal, antesepalous, anthers purple, narrowly ellipsoid-oblong, ca. 2.5 mm long; filaments ca. 3.5 mm long, hyaline; staminodes 3, equal, antepetalous, antherodes cordate, purple, ca. 0.75 mm long, filaments ca. 2 mm long, bearded, hyaline; ovary oblong-ellipsoid, acutely 3-angled, ca. 1.75 mm long; style thickened toward the base, ca. 2 mm long, glabrous.
Capsule 5.5-9.5 mm long, apex mucronulate or acuminate. Seeds 2 or 3 per locule, brown, dimorphic: seeds at apex of capsule deltoid, others trapezoid, 1-2.7 by 1.2-1.5 mm, marbled, embryostega lateral or semilateral, sunken, hilum linear.

台灣 : usually in swamps, marshes, and rice fields, low elevations.
世界 : The eastern United States, Italy, Japan, Korea, India, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and mainland China.
