Murdannia 水竹葉屬
型態特徵
Annual or perennial herbs, sometimes with stolons. Stems usually dimorphic: vegetative shoot acaulescent, erect; flowering shoots 1-several, ascending or decumbent. Leaves linear, lanceolate, or oblanceolate, cartilaginous, sometimes conduplicate. Prophyll sheathing, apex bifid. Inflorescences terminal, a single cincinnus or a thyrse or sometimes flower solitary. Flowers usually dimorphic. Functionally male flowers: style central, straight; pistil vestigial; stamens symmetrically arranged. Bisexual flowers: style curved to one side, stamens on opposite side; sepals free, lanceolate, boat shaped, equal; petals suborbicular, purple, fertile stamens 2 or 3, antesepalous, anthers purple to black, narrowly ellipsoid-oblong; filaments bearded, hairs moniliform; staminodes 3 or 4, usually unequal, when 4, one antesepalous with vestigial anther and bearded filament, others antepetalous, equal, antherodes trilobed, white or yellow, filaments bearded or glabrous; ovary ellipsoid, acutely 3-angled; style thickened toward base. Capsule trilocular, 3-valved, ellipsoid or oblong-ellipsoid, 3-angled, apex mucronulate. Seeds brown, deltoid, embryostega lateral or semilateral or dorsal, hilum linear or punctiform.
Species ca. 50, distributed in tropics and subtropics, mainly in Asia; four species in Taiwan .
