特徵描述

生活型

形態特徵

  • Shrubs, ca. 1-3 m tall; stem simple or branched upward.
  • Leaves dagger-like, 35-75 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, apex acute, very sharp-pointed, base truncate, sharply rough edged. Inflorescences paniculate, 30-60 cm long, erect, glabrous or nearly so; pedicel 1.5-3.5 cm, glabrous.
  • Flowers many, nodding, white, apex purplish, 7-10 cm in diam.; perianth 3.5-5 cm long, apex obtuse.
  • Fruit oblong, 7-10 cm long, pulp purple; seeds 3-4 mm thick.

分布

  • 台灣 : introduced into Taiwan in 1910, occasionally cultivated in gardens.
  • 世界 : Native to the West India and the eastern North America.
