形態特徵

• Perennial herbs; rhizome slender, rather short, fleshy or nearly so, often with fibrous sheaths at base.
• Leaves several in a rosette, linear, 10-30 cm long, 6-9 mm wide, apex acute to acuminate, narrower and decurrent at base, chartaceous to membranous, entire, with scattered hairs on both surfaces, midrib prominent, impressed on upper surface, lateral veins inconspicuous.
• Flowers numerous, sometimes to 40, white tinged with pink, 2.5-3.5 mm in diam., spicate; scapes from rosettes, erect to ascending, 40-60 cm long, hairy, especial when young; bracts lanceolate to linear, 6-8 mm long, acute; perianth segments usually connate at base, forming a tube, 6-lobed at apex; lobes lanceolate, 3-5 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, hairy on both surfaces, apex obtuse; stamens 6, included; filaments short, attached to perianth segments; anthers ovoid, red to reddish yellow, 0.5-0.7 mm long; ovary half inferior, 2-2.5 mm long, style 1 mm long, trifid.
• Fruit a capsule, hairy 6-7 mm long. seeds numerous, brownish, ca. 1-1.5 mm long.

分布

• 台灣 : exposed fields and roadsides, 10-1,500 m, throughout the island, rather common.
• 世界 : Mainland China, Japan, the Philippines and the Ryukyus.
