生活型

形態特徵

  • Perennial subshrubs to 1 m tall; stems terete or subquadrangular, rather thick, slightly branched, brown-puberulent while young.
  • Leaves membranaceous, obovate or ovate-oblong, 10–20 cm long, 3–8 cm wide, apex acute or short acuminate with obtuse tip, base gradually narrowed, margins undulately serrate, upper surface glabrous, lower surface loosely brownish puberulent on midrib and veins while young, lateral veins 5 or 6 per side; petiole 1–2.5 cm long.
  • Flowers sessile, opposite in axillary spikes; spikes to 15 cm long; bracts leaf-like, spatulate or oblanceolate, 2–2.5 cm long, deciduous; calyx divided nearly to base, segments unequal, posterior segment oblanceolate, ca. 2 cm long, other segments linear, ca. 1.5 cm long, all glabrous; corolla pale purplish up to 5 cm long, glabrous without; filaments glabrous, longer ones up to 1 cm long; ovary oblong, apex puberulent with few glandular-tipped hairs.
  • Capsule ca. 2.5 cm long, glabrous.

分布

  • 台灣 : Northern and central of Taiwan, especially common in the vicinity of Taipei.
