形態特徵

• Shrubs, 1–1.5 m tall; branches and branchlets densely pubescent.
• Leaves coriaceous or subcoriaceous, oblong or elliptic, 5–12 cm long, 2.8–4.5 cm broad; base mostly obtuse; apex acuminate; upper surface sparsely pubescent along petiole to midrib, lower surface pubescent; secondary veins (5-)6–8 pairs, veinlets subparallel, forked or reticulate; stipules triangular-lanceolate, 3–6 mm long, pubescent, caducous in age; petiole 3–6 mm long, slightly grooved above, pubescent.
• Flowers sessile, ebracteate, flowers clustered in axillary head. Calyx campanulate, ca. 2 mm long, pubescent outside, lobes 5, ca. 1 mm long. Corolla salverform, ca. 8 mm long, white, upper 14 of tube pubescent inside, pubescent outside, lobes 5. Stamens 5, filaments ca. 1 mm long, anthers oblong, ca. 1 mm long. Style filiform, ca. 6 mm long, stigma 5-branched, white.
• Drupe ellipsoid, ca. 6 mm in diam., pubescent, blackish purple. Seeds 4–5.

分布

• 台灣 : in broad-leaved forests at low elevations in Hengchun Peninsula and Taitung.
