Evergreen trees to 20 m tall; branchlets brown puberulous, glabrescent or nearly so, with distinct leaf scars.
Leaves clustered at end of branches, thickly coriaceous, oblong, obovate or narrowly obovate, (9.0–)10.1–13.0(–19.8) cm long, (4.6–)5.0–7.6(–12.5) cm wide; apex acute, rounded to subemarginate, base obtuse; margin entire; glabrous or nearly so, shining dark green adaxially, partially pubescent and slightly paler abaxially; midrib and veins subconspicuous adaxially, raised abaxially, lateral veins 7–9(–10) per side; petiole short, 0.3–0.7(–1.1) cm long.
Flowers in axillary clusters, 0.8–1.2 cm in diameter; calyx 2-whorled, each 3-lobed, outer whorl brown pubescent, lobes obtuse; corolla pale yellow, 6-lobed, lanceolate; pedicel 1.2–2.8 cm long.
Fruits freshy, globose, (2.4–)3.4–4.0(–4.5) cm long, 1.2–2.5 cm in diameter, olive colour when young becoming black at maturity. Seeds usually 1, large, 2.5–3.0 cm long, dark brown.

分布

台灣 : limited to tidal forests in the north and south to Lanyu Is. (Botel Tobago) and Lutao Is.
世界 : The Philippines (Luzon, Batan and Babuyan)
