A small glabrous evergreen tree.
Leaves variable, ovate to broadly ovate or subrhombic, unlobed or shallowly 2- to 3-lobed on mature plants, or more deeply 3- to 5-lobed on young plants, 7–12 cm long, 5–9 cm wide, obtuse with acute or acuminate at apex, obtuse or broadly cuneate and 3-nerved at base. Petioles 3–13 cm long.
Umbels usually solitary, subglobose, the peduncle 3–6 cm long, the pedicels 6–15 mm long. Flowers yellowish green, 4–5 mm across.
Fruits broadly ellipsoidal, about 8 mm long, grooved, black.
