形態特徵

• Small dwarf prostrate shrubs with grayish bark, many branched; young branchlets quadrangular, slightly pubescent.
• Leaves opposite, coriaceous, obovate, 8–12 mm long, 5–7 mm wide, emarginate or rounded at the apex, shining at the upper surface, glabrous, entire, subsessile.
• Fruit a globose capsule, 7 mm across, dehiscent into 3 valves.
• This variety can be distiguished from the var. sinica by its dwarf and prostrate habit, smaller leaves and fruit.

分布

• 台灣 : Only known at Taroko gorge at the altitude around 1800 meters.
