特徵描述

生活型

tree-shrub

形態特徵

  • A shrub or small tree, 1–2.5 m high; branchlet terete, densely brown pubescent.
  • Leaves simple, alternate, white or grayish green above, glabrous or near so, densely brown pubescent beneath, oblong-elliptic, sometimes obovate, 3.5–7 cm long, 1.5–3 cm broad, lateral veins 4–8 on each side, conspicuously raised beneath, the apex obtuse or acute, the base acute or cuneate, entire; petiole nearly subsessile, 1–2 mm long; stipules triangular-lanceolate, apex acute or acuminate.
  • Flowers in axillary clusters, 5–15 flowers per cluster, usually bisexual, with long-pedicellate staminate flowers and short-pedicellate pistillate flowers, the lower axils more or all staminate flowers, the higher axils more or all pistillate flowers. Staminate flowers: sepals 6, spreading, green to yellow, unequal, outside pubescent; stamens 3, connate into a column; pedicels slender, 6–8 mm long. Pistillate flowers: sepals as staminate flowers, but not spreading, green; styles very short lobed in summit; ovary 5–8-celled, with long white hairs; pedicels 1–2 mm long, nearly subsessile.
  • Capsule depressed-globose, 7–15 mm across, with 5–8 lobes, densely pubescent. Seeds red, hemispheroid.

分布

  • 台灣 : In the central parts of the island, especially in Taichung and its vicinity.
  • 世界 : Southern China.
