形態特徵

• A scandent shrub; stems densely floccose-tomentose when young, prickles curved and small.
• Leaves simple, thinly coriaceous, oblong-lanceolate to lanceolate, 7–11 cm long, 1.5–2.5 cm wide, acuminate, rounded at base, lateral veins 7–9 per side, the midrib slightly impressed above, raised beneath, the margins remotely serrate, upper surface dark and glabrous, lower surface densely yellowish-brown tomentose; petioles 1.5–3 cm long, prickly and tomentose; stipules oblong-lanceolate, up to 1 cm long, often apically lacerate, hairy on the margin.
• Inflorescence a terminal or axillary raceme, pedicels tomentose and prickly; bracts oblong-lanceolate, about 1 cm long, with few teeth on the margin; calyx cupular, densely tomentose on both surfaces, the lobes oblong-triangular, 3–4 mm long, pointed at apex; petals rhomboid-orbicular, 3 mm long, hairy; filaments sparsely hairy, anthers with few hairs on the top of connectives; styles up to 8 mm long, hairy, ovary hairy apically.
• Collective fruits globose, 8–10 mm across, the exocarp red when ripe.

分布

• 台灣 : Endemic. In the northeastern part of Taiwan.
