生活型

shrub

形態特徵

A straggling shrub; stems tomentulose, especially when young; prickles few, about 2 mm long, curved.
Leaves simple, membranaceous, ovate to ovate oblong, 4–12 cm long, 3–8 cm wide, acuminate, broadly to deeply cordate at base, indistinctly 3–5-lobed, the margin dentate-mucronate, 5-nerved at base, upper surface hairy, especially on the nerves, lower surface densely brown-yellow pilose; petioles 2–3.5 cm long, tomentulose, with a few prickles; stipules lanceolate, 4–8 mm long, deeply laciniate, with few long hairs and sessile glands.
Inflorescence a terminal panicle, up to 20 cm long; pedicels 8–12 mm long; bracts 2–4 mm long, similar to stipules; calyx cupular, 5–6 mm across; calyx-lobes triangular-ovate, 4–6 mm long, the apex acuminate, sometimes apically divided, outside woolly and with long hairs, inside densely tomentellous; petals white, elliptic to obovate, about 4 mm long, slightly hairy inside at base.
Collective fruits globose, 5–8 mm across, the exocarp red when ripe.

分布

台灣 : Taiwan, common in thickets at medium altitudes.
世界 : Southern China and Japan.
