形態特徵

  • A deciduous tree.
  • Leaves oblong-ovate, long-acuminate, broadly acute to rounded at base, glandular-serrulate, with a pair of glands at the base; stipules linear, glandular-serrate at top, hirsute inside; bracts fan-shaped, glandular-serrate at top.
  • Flowers 3–5-fascicled, white, about 2.5 cm across; calyx tubular, the lobes triangular to lanceolate, coarsely serrate; petals ovate to oblong, emarginate, about 8 mm long, 5–7 mm wide; stamens about 30.
  • According to Sasaki, this species is very close to P. transarisanensis Hayata, but differs from it in having the glabrous habit and white petals. It is also similar to P. taiwaniana Hayata, but differs from the latter in having the glabrous pedicels and

  • 台灣 : Known only from the type locality, Taipingshan, alt ca. 2,000 m.
