A small glabrous shrub.
Leaves thin-coriaceous, oblong, lanceolate or oblanceolate, 7–12 cm long, 2.5–4 cm broad, acute at both ends, remotely but distinctly mucronate-serrate, glabrous on both surfaces, dark above, paler and often tuberculate beneath, the midrib impressed above, raised beneath; petioles about 1 cm long.
Inflorescence a terminal umbellately arranged corymb, about 8 cm long and 12 cm broad, glabrous or nearly so; sterile flowers with 3 sepals, sepals orbicular, about 1.2 cm across.
Capsules globose, about 1.5 mm across, with 3 prominent linear persistent styles at the top.
