Dioecious, small Evergreen trees; branchlets slender, pubescent.
Leaves alternate, obovate to obovate-lanceolate, 5-9 cm long, 2-3 cm broad, chartaceous, obtuse to rarely acute at apex, cuneate to acute at base, margins slightly revolute, glabrous above, somewhat glaucous with hairs along midrib and veins beneath, midrib impressed, somewhat concave above, elevated beneath, lateral veins 5-8 pairs, indistinct above, elevated beneath, reticulate veinlets distinct beneath; petioles 2-5 mm long, pubescent, with parallel veinlets at base of blade.
Inflorescences umbellate, July to February, axillary or terminal; peduncles villous; involucral bracts 4, obovate, glabrous, obtuse, sericeous-puberulent, 4 mm long; receptacle of staminate flowers, short hirsute; pedicels 2 mm long, hirsute; tepals 6, subequal, oblong, acute at apex, hirsute outside; fertile stamens 9, filaments villous, 3rd whorl with subsessile glands, anthers oblong, 4-celled, introrse; reduced ovary absent.
Berry ellipsoid, 1 cm long, 5 mm across, yellow at maturity.
