形態特徵

Deciduous small shrubs with aromatic ginger odor, branchlets glabrous, black when dry.
Leaves chartaceous, becoming membranaceous when dry, lanceolate, green when fresh, deep blackish-brown to brown above, brown-black beneath when dry, glabrous, 5-12 cm long, 1-3 cm broad, acuminate at apex, acute to obtuse at base, midrib blackish-brown when dry, elevated on both sides, lateral veins 5-9 pairs, elevated on both sides; petioles 0.5-1.2 cm long, glabrous.
Inflorescences umbellate, 4-5-flower-ed, axillary; involucral bracts 4, concave, obovate, rounded at apex, glabrous, 3-4 mm long; peduncles 1 cm long; staminate tepals 6, broadly ovate, obtuse at apex, 2 mm long, 1.5 mm broad; fertile stamens 9, filaments filiform, 1.8 mm long, villous at base, 3rd whorl with stipitate glands, anthers ellipsoid, 4-celled, introrse; reduced ovary small; pistillate flowers 2 mm across.
Fruit globose, 4-5 mm across, with ginger odor, black.

分布

台灣 : in broad-leaved forests at medium to high altitudes, often scattered in farm fields or timbered sites.
世界 : Southcentral China, Malaysia, India and Java.
