形態特徵

• Small evergreen trees to shrubs; branches deep brown with distinctly lenticels.
• Leaves alternate, oblong, obovate or lanceolate, 16-20 cm long, 6-7.5 cm broad, coriaceous, deep green above, dull green-yellow beneath, acute or obtuse at apex, cuneate at base, entire, glabrous on both sides, midrib concave above, prominent beneath, lateral veins 8-10 pairs; petioles 1-1.5 cm long.
• Flowers axillary, solitary, bisexual or rarely unisexual; peduncles 1.2-1.4 cm long, on lower parts of branchlets and opposite leaves; calyx coriaceous, lobes 3-parted, green, broadly triangular-ovate, 6-7 mm long, 4 mm broad; petals 6, in 2 series, the outer 3 lanceolate, yellowish-green with about 5 lines inside, 5.7-6 cm long, 1-1.1 cm broad, the inner 3 smaller, ovate, 2.9 cm long, 1.2 cm broad, much thicker, fleshy, acuminate at apex, green, mostly connate except at base, cohering in a calyptra; stamens about 97, linear, 1.5-2 mm long, filaments glabrous; carpels 12-24, only 7-16 reaching maturity, linear, 6-7 mm long, slender; ovary green, 2-2.5 mm long, 1-celled, each cell with 1-3 ovules, styles white, 2.7-5 mm long, curved, stigmas obtuse;
• Fruit indehiscent, oblong, ellipsoidal or somewhat constricted between the seeds, 1.5-2 cm long; peduncles ca. 1 cm long;seeds 1-3, 8 mm long, 6 mm across, 4 mm thick, brown with cyclic rings;

flowering May.; fruiting in October.

分布

• 台灣 : in the extreme southern part of the island, such as Nanjenshan and Satau, Oulangpi, now very scare.
• 世界 : The Philippines.
