形態特徵

• Perennial herbs; stems ascending or erect.
• Leaves green chartaceous, ovate, elliptic, narrowly elliptic or oblanceolate, 4–8 cm long, 2–2.5 cm wide, barbellate hairy on both surfaces, glabrescent, apex acute, margins entire, lateral veins 5–7 pairs, densely barbellate hairy at base.
• Flowers white; bracts linear to lanceolate, prominently spined at apex, barbellate hairy outside, perianth segments lanceolate, broadly lanceolate or lanceolate-ovate, apex acute and short spined, outer 3 segments, 3-nerved, thickened, in lower part, barbellate-hairy along nerves outside, inner 2 somewhat laterally compressed, ca. 4/5 length of outer ones, 1 or 2-nerved, transparent; stamens 5, anthers linear oblong, pseudo-staminodes as long as stamens; pistil 1, stigma capitate.
• Utricle ellipsoid.

• 台灣 : along roadsides and in waste land.
• 世界 : Native to Brazil.
