形態特徵

• Perennnial herbs to 2 m tall; stems much branched, farinose. Leaves circular, 1-5 cm in diameter, thick, entire or rarely sinuate toothed.
• Leaves circular, 1-5 cm in diameter, thick, entire or rarely sinuate toothed.
• Plants dioecious; staminate inflorescence a terminal densely packed spike, spikes aggregated into leafless panicles or sparingly leafy at panicle base; pistillate inflorescence a terminal leafy spike or panicle.
• Utricles sessile, fascicled, bracts compressed but free nearly to base, ovate to circular, rounded or truncate at apex, entire or minutely toothed toward base.
