形態特徵

• Plants monoecious, 4–5.5 cm high, yellow.
• Leaves ovate, apex obtuse.
• Spadices 2.5–4 cm long; male flowers dispersed among female flowers. Male flowers pedicellate; perianth 3-merous; anthers 3, connate. Female flowers minute, densely aggregated.
• In 1972, Hansen chose the name <i>Balanophora wrightii</i> for this species. Tam (1988) thought <i>B. wrightii</i> was a nude name, and selected <i>B. torbiracola</i> for it. That thinking was taken by Ying (1990). According to Article 32 of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, Hansens choice of B. wrightii was because Makino, in proposing this name, gave a clear and direct reference to Itos illustration in 1887, which is effectively published. The publication can replace a written description or diagnosis in complying with Article 42.2. of the code.
