形態特徵

• Small deciduous trees; branches grayish-yellow; branchlets slender.
• Leaves alternate, ovate, 3–4.5 cm long, 2–3 cm broad, chartaceous, apex caudate-acuminate, obtuse, base rounded to slightly cordate, entire, glabrous, usually 3-nerved at base, lateral veins 2–3 pairs; petioles 2–5 mm long, red, glabrous.
• Spikes axillary, 5–6-flowered, 2.5–3.5 cm long, glabrous; peduncles about 2 cm long. Flowers bisexual, sessile; calyx tube ca. 2 mm long; corolla tube 6–8 mm long, 4–5(–6)-lobed, lobes ovate, slightly recurved above, with a bundle of hairs behind stamens; stamens 4–5, the anthers sessile, 2-locular, as many as and opposite the corolla lobes; ovary immersed in the red annular disc, 3-celled, ovule 1 in each cell, style yellow, 4–6 mm long, glabrous, the stigma 3-lobed.

分布

• 台灣 : at altitudess of 1,000–2,000 m in the central and southern parts.
• 世界 : China (S, C & E), Thailand, Japan and the Ryukyus.
