型態特徵

Small trees or shrubs. Leaves alternate, petiolate, entire. Flowers in axillary spikes or racemes, bisexual, yellow, pedicelled; calyx tube truncate; corolla connate into a tube, 4–5-lobed; stamens 4–5, inserted on the upper part of corolla tube, opposite the corolla lobes, filaments very short, anthers 2-locular; staminodia absent; disc annular; ovary immersed in the disk, 1-locular above, 3-locular below, each locule with 1 ovule, stigma 3-lobed. Fruit a drupe, nearly enclosed by the accrescent calyx tube; seed 1, endosperm abundant.
