形態特徵

Large deciduous trees with some aerial roots, leafless for brief intervals (usually 2–4 times a year); bark dark brown, glabrous; branchlets pale reddish, glabrous.
Leaves clustered, chartaceous, glabrous, elliptic or oblong, 10–17 cm long, 4–6 cm wide, short acuminate at apex, rounded at base, entire or slightly undulate at margins, glabrous, primary lateral veins 7–9 pairs; petioles slender, glabrous, 3–7 cm long; stipules membranaceous, whitish, lanceolate, ca. 2 cm long, fugaceous.
Male, gall and feMale flowers mixed; Male flowers few, near mouth of the receptacle, sessile, perianth lobes 2–3, involute, stamen 1, filament short; gall flowers pedicellate, perianth 3–4-lobed, ovary smooth, globose or obovoid, oblique, style short, stigma dilated and often bifid; feMale flowers sessile, perianth 4-cleft, broadly lanceolate, ovary smooth, globose, style slender, stigma tapering.
Receptacles reddish, with many whitish dots, solitary, paired or clustered, axillary or on thick branches, globose to slightly depressed-globose, 1–1.5 cm across, glabrous; basal bracts 3, minutely thickened, fugaceous; stalks short, glabrous, 0.4–0.9 cm long.

分布

台灣 : Very common at low altitudes throughout the island.
世界 : Japan, the Ryukyus, S China, Hainan Island, Hong Kong, Indochina, Thailand and Malaysia.
