Evergreen shrubs scandent on limestone rocks; bark reddish-brown; branchlets minutely pubescent, scurfy.
Levaes coriaceous, glabrous to hirsute, narrowly elliptic. 4–10 cm long, 3–6 cm wide, acute at apex, obtuse to cuneate at base, entire, revolute, with 3 main veins from base, primary lateral veins 4–6 pairs, prominent beneath; petioles 1.5–2.5 cm long, scurfy; stipules broadly lanceolate, 1–1.5 cm long, membranaceous, fugaceous.
Male and gall or female Flowers mixed; male Flowers long-pedicellate, with 2 bracts at base, perianth lobes 2–4, stamens 2–4, filaments short; gall Flowers pedicellate or subsessile, perianth lobes 3–5, ovary smooth, short stipitate, obliquely globose, style lateral, short and thick, stigma dilated and truncate; female Flowers sessile, perianth lobes 3–5, short, ovary smooth, globose, style rather short, but much longer than in gall Flowers, the stigma acute.
Receptacles dark red to russet-brown, solitary or paired, axillary, subglobose or obovoid, 1–2 cm across puberulent; basal bracts 3, membranaceous; stalks slender, slightly pubescent, 2–3 cm long.
