形態特徵

Large evergreen trees; bark grayish-white, glabrous; branchlets white, glabrous; aerial roots many pendulous from trunk or large branches.
Levaes coriaceous, glabrous, long-obovate, obovate, oblong to elliptic, 5–12 cm long, 2.5–5.5 cm wide, entire, short-acuminate or rarely slightly emarginate at apex, cuneate at base, with 3 basal veinlets from the base of blade, midrib prominent beneath, primary lateral veins 5–10 pairs; petioles stout, 0.6–2.2 cm long; stipules linear-lanceolate, 1.5–3.5 cm long, membranaceous, glabrous or somewhat pubescent.
Male, gall and female Flowers mixed; male Flowers many, pedicellate, perianth lobes 3–4, elliptic to oblanceolate, stamen 1; gall Flowers pedicellate, perianth lobes 3–5, broadly spathulate, ovary smooth, globose, lateral style rather long, stigma dilated and trumpet-shaped at tip; female Flowers sessile, perianth lobes 3–5, ovary smooth, ovoid, style slender, longer than those in gall Flowers, stigma acute.
Receptacles violet, reddish-brown or yellowish with white dots, sessile, solitary or paired, axillary, obovoid, 0.5–1.2 cm across, glabrous, basal bracts 3, persistent, minutely pubescent.

分布

台灣 : Very common at low altitudes throughout the island and on Lanyu Island.
世界 : Southern Japan,Yakushima, Ryukyus, S. China to India, Sri Lanka, eastward throughout Southeast Asia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, New Guinea, the Philippines, Malaysia to New Britain, N. and E. Australia, Caroline Isl. Cocos and Christmas Isl.
