Medium-sized evergreen trees with spreading, pendulous branches, branches pale brown or reddish-brown, hispid.
Levaes coriaceous, very scabrous-hispid, elliptic to long-ovate, 6–12 cm long, 3–6 cm wide, cuspidate at apex, obliquely obtuse at base, nearly entire, with 3 main veins from base, lateral primary veins 5–6 pairs, prominent beneath, very scabrid or invisibly hispid on both sides; petioles hispid, 0.4–0.8 cm long; stipules membranaceous, brown, ovate-lanceolate, 0.8–1 cm long, fugaceous.
Gall Flowers pedicellate or subsessile, perianth lobes 4, ovary smooth, globose, somewhat oblique, lateral style short, stigma dilated and truncate; female Flowers pedicellate, perianth lobes 4–5, ovary ellipsoid or globose, smooth, style slender, stigma brown, dilated.
Receptacles yellowish-red or red with yellow dots, solitary or paired, axillary, globose, 0.8–1.2 cm across, scabrid; basal bracts 3, membranaceous; stalks slender, 0.8–1.4 cm long.
