形態特徵

• Small evergreen trees; branches and branchlets slender, somewhat pendulous, young branchlets pale-brown or reddish-brown, with hairs.
• Levaes alternate, thinly coriaceous, somewhat scabrous, oblong, elliptic or broadly lanceolate, 5–12 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, cuspidate or short acutish at apex, more or less obliquely obtuse or cuneate at base, entire, with 3 main veins, lateral veins 5–7 pairs, veins prominent beneath; petioles scurfy and hispid, 0.3–0.8 cm long; stipules thinly membranaceous, pale-brown, linear-lanceolate, 0.6–1 cm long, slightly hirsute, fugacious.
• Gall Flowers together with female Flowers, subsessile or shortly pedicellate, perianth lobes 4, ovary smooth, stipitate, globose, lateral style short, stigma dilated; female Flowers subsessile, obliquely globose, style longer, stigma slightly dilated, dark brown.
• Receptacles yellowish-red or orange-red when mature, solitary or in pairs, axillary, globose or depressed-globose, 0.5–0.6 cm across, very slightly hispid, the basal bracts 2–3, adnate to the slender stalks, stalks slightly hispid, 0.4–0.8 cm long.

分布

• 台灣 : Very common in broad-levaed forests at low altitudes throughout the island and on Lanyu and Lutao islands.
• 世界 : Indonesia, West New Guinea, Sulawesi (Celebes), Moluccas, the Philippines, and the Ryukyus.
