形態特徵

  • Deciduous trees; branchlets gray, densely velutinous and puberulous, glabrescent; bud scales brownish gray, translucent or whitish puberulous, slightly whitish ciliate.
  • Leaves broadly ovate, elliptic to obovate, 2-7 cm long, 1.5-3.5 cm broad, coriaceous, apex acute, obtuse to rounded, base slightly cordate, rounded to obtuse, margins serrate in upper part, slightly oblique to symmetrical, short strigose on both surfaces, lateral veins 3 or 4; petioles 2-7 mm long, velutinous.
  • Staminate Flowers solitary; calyx-lobes 4, ca. 1.8 mm long, 0.5 mm broad, margins ciliate; pedicels ca. 1.8 mm long, velutinous. Bisexual Flowers solitary; calyx lobes 4, ca. 1.8 mm long, 0.5 mm broad; ovary ovoid, glabrous; pedicels ca. 1.8 mm long, strigose.
  • Fruit elliptic-globose, ca. 6 mm long, 4 mm across, glabrous; pedicels 4-7 mm long, velutinous.

分布

  • 台灣 : in thickets, on cliffs and on limestone rocks in the southern part.
