型態特徵

Annular prostrate herbs; stems hirsute. Leaves alternate, crenate-dentate or lobulate, asymmetrical. Flowers solitary, sessile or short-pedicellate, tetramerous or rarely pentamerous. Calyx lobes free. Corolla with a cylinder tube and diminutive lobes, accrescent during anthesis, fornices absent. Stamens included, filaments short, attached near middle of corolla tube. Ovary shallowly 4-lobed; style terminal, united at base; stigma capitate. Fruit fleshy or dry, fastigate or subglobose, with 4 or fewer 1-seeded pyrenes, endocarp bony.
